Zenergi
HR New starter guide
_

The onboarding document, created in Microsoft Word over years and edited by various departments, was messy and unprofessional, creating a poor first impression. Collaborating with the Onboarding Coordinator, I aimed to improve the document to ensure a consistent experience for employees throughout their Zenergi journey.

In the age of Digital Marketing, capturing attention is vital. Among the most powerful tools at our disposal is design. Images can weave stories, evoke emotions, and instantaneously communicate complex ideas. I knew our HR department could leverage Graphic Design to make sure new employees feel welcomed, supported, and equipped to succeed in their roles.

Simplifies complexity: Visuals simplify information such as company policies and team structures by using diagrams and infographics. This clarity helps new hires grasp concepts swiftly.

Understanding and retention: Visuals enhance understanding and memory retention. By presenting information visually, we engage different parts of the brain, making it easier for new hires to remember crucial details.

Accommodates learning styles: Visual work caters to visual learners, ensuring inclusivity in our onboarding process. A variety of visual elements resonate with different learning preferences, ensuring everyone feels supported.

Creates lasting impressions: Well-designed visuals leave a positive imprint on new hires, reinforcing our commitment to a thoughtful onboarding experience.

A positive and well designed onboarding experience fosters a sense of belonging and engagement, promoting long-term commitment, improved retention, and enhanced job satisfaction.

I used elements such as size, colour, shape, alignment, spacing and typography to create visual hierarchy and contrast. For example, large and bold fonts were used for headlines and icons/images were used to illustrate concepts and features. These elements were utilised to help attract and direct attention, reduce cognitive load, and increase clarity and comprehension.
